Getting children involved in various activities keeps them active and healthy. You can help your child
explore many different activities to find something they enjoy.
In Early Years, a child’s main way of learning is through PLAY – exploring, observing and
experimenting. When children try out different activities, they pick up new skills, stay interested and
challenged to the task and there is good enough physical activity – Fine and or Gross Motor.
When a child chooses an activity, it will spark the children’s curiosity and arrest their attention. This
will help the child to explore how things are organised that each and everything has a particular way
of organisation, improve the problem solving ability and abstract thinking. The child will learn to
express and understand what others say. Activities help develop large and small muscle control, co-
ordination between eyes and hands and overall physical fitness. Adult interference should be
minimal or none at all.
So…expose children to the world of playing and learning.
